This was one of those months where I felt like my photography was a little bit aimless. I am in the habit of carrying my camera almost everywhere I go and try to stay a little extra alert to my surroundings, hoping to capture a moment or scene that I can take back home with me. It’s fair to say that I’m a nostalgic person and I think, without even setting out to say it, that that is exactly what these photos tell about me.
Fourth of July fireworks over the St. Joseph River in downtown South Bend. Who could resist photographing a birthday?
A little basketball in a city park. Thanks to these guys for letting me snap a few shots!
It was the antenna on this house that caught my attention, but the window air conditioning units (not uncommon around here) remind me of summer when I was a kid. I remember catching naps after Sunday dinners, falling asleep to the tune of our air conditioner’s hum, back when Sunday was a day of rest.
My daughter is as casual as they come. Evening light and a good breeze are great additions to a girl wearing a baseball cap.
Sweet Caroline and her mother. What more is there to say?
So that was my July. You can see Leanne’s latest works here, and then continue on around the blog circle. Thanks for looking!
STACI KENNELLY - I love your eye. Each of these has an amazing point of view.
Gigi Thibodeau - What wonderful shots, Jennifer! That fireworks pic is spectacular–so crisp and clear–and I love the stories that your other photos tell. The light on your daughter’s hair is pure magic. Just beautiful.
