October 5 on 5

I did a lot of binge shooting this month–sometimes going a few days at a time when I shot little to nothing, and then having days when I had to worry about not having enough space on my memory cards to continue shooting (and once, even having to delete images from my card on location to make room for just one–or two, or three or more–shots.)  I walked around for a day in Chicago, a city that never wears on me, at the beginning of the month.  And I spent the latter part of the month testing light, trying concepts, taking on client shoots, and of course, capturing my own family in their natural habitat.  I had a really hard time deciding on my five favorites this month, so stay tuned to see more in the coming days!  Once you’ve finished viewing these, keep on clicking to see Leanne’s past month!

September 5 on 5

Every month as I go through the images I have captured, I feel like they just won’t go together in a blog post.  This month was a little easier because three of the photos were taken in the same session.  Still, I wasn’t sure the other two would fit in.  As I brought them all together, though, the bigger theme shines through:  beautiful light.

dsc_0099-editSeptember brings Labor Day, and for us, that usually means the running of the Blueberry Stomp.  This kid unofficially did his first 5K at the tender age of three. That year, we had a stroller so he could ride while we all ran, but he ended up walking/running the entire course himself.  Since he loved it so much, he now proudly wears his own bib.

dsc_0643-edit-editNothing beats an early morning workout, right?  Especially in this light.

Creativity Challenge: Editor’s Choice

This summer, I took part in a creativity challenge that is one of my favorites to date.  You can read more about it on the CM blog .  One of my photos was chosen (among many other great takes on the theme) as an Editor’s Choice.  This was an especially fun theme for me, so I’m sharing with you all of my own attempts at describing my subjects without having them be the most prominent element in the frame.
