When you think about a photo shoot on the beach, you probably picture warm weather and a summery feel.
Not this family. Their love for the beach extends well beyond summer months and bathing suits. Their adventurous nature draws them to the shore well into the fall. They find it refreshing. Visiting the sand and water is something they can do as a family regardless of the season. Fresh air and crashing waves abound almost year round.
When clients are creatives in their own right, they have no trouble breaking from the norm. So rather than a light, breezy wardrobe for their beach photo shoot, they chose to go with mostly deeper colors that complemented the natural backdrop.
The location wasn’t just any beach. It was a small beach with special meaning to them–one that they can normally visit without big crowds. And forget a sunset shoot. Neither the sun nor the tide would allow for an evening session. Sunrise was the only option, which meant a very early morning.
Cue the first cold morning of the season–the day of their photo shoot. The temperature was near the freezing mark, but we were well-prepared with warm clothing, blankets, hand warmers, and promises of hot chocolate. But the warmth? Ah, the warmth came from their hearts.
